This research presents a methodology that employs quantitative criteria, such as artificial intelligence and geomatics techniques, to identify and delineate territorial ecological units. In our country, there are few approaches to methodologies that allow for the direct, effective, and practical definition of territorial ecological units using quantitative criteria. For this reason, it is necessary to develop and publish methodological frameworks for land use planning derived from ecological theory and the existing socio-environmental realities in the area, with a systemic view of the territory’s components and their underlying relationships (energy and material flows, interrelationships between environmental elements), which are essential for land use planning processes and decision-making. The methodology proposed and applied in this study facilitates territorial analysis and has proven to be a new alternative for ecology-based land-use planning studies.
